App-buying terms in plain English
SaaS
Software as a service: software accessed as an ongoing service rather than just a standalone copy. The delivery method does not by itself tell you the billing terms, available features, or where your data is stored.
Seat
A unit often associated with a user’s access. Vendors define billable roles differently; check whether administrators, guests, or inactive accounts consume a paid seat.
Free plan
An ongoing plan without a subscription charge for its defined scope. Limits and excluded features still matter. Read the current terms rather than assuming it covers your entire workflow.
Free trial
Time-limited evaluation access. Check the end date, card requirement, billing transition, and what happens to saved work.
Integration
A connection between systems. Its usefulness depends on specific triggers, actions, permissions, and failure behavior, not simply the two product names appearing together.
Export
A way to take information out of an app. File formats, included fields, attachments, and relationships determine how usable the result is elsewhere.
Usage-based pricing
Billing tied to a measured unit such as messages, storage, or workflow runs. Confirm what consumes a unit, which allowances apply, and how excess use is handled.
